SEMIEN, ABREU, VICIEDO GO BACK-TO-BACK IN CHISOX 'W'
Sox Rebound 1 Day After Epic 'L' at Hands of D-Backs

CHICAGO, May 10 (AP) - Marcus Semien, Jose Abreu and Dayan Viciedo hit consecutive home runs in the fifth inning and the Chicago White Sox went on to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2 at U.S. Cellular Field.  The White Sox bounced back the day after being bludgeoned by the Diamondbacks to the tune of 23-7.  Abreu's homer, coming in the middle of three straight, was the first of two he hit in the game, part of a five-longball onslaught for the White Sox.  Jose Quintana turned in another solid outing for Chicago, allowing one run in 6-2/3 innings, to secure the victory.

Arizona scored first, in the opening frame when A.J. Pollock led off the game with a blast into the bleachers in left-center for a 1-0 lead.

The White Sox evened the score in the second on Alexei Ramirez's eighth home run of the season off Diamondbacks starter Wade Miley.

The game remained knotted at a run apiece until the bottom of the fifth when Chicago broke the contest open, with all the damage coming with two outs.  After Miley set down Tyler Flowers and Alejandro de Aza, Gordon Beckham doubled to the right-center field gap and Semien gave the White Sox a lead they would never relinquish with his fourth home run of the season, making the score 3-1.  Abreu followed with his eighth home run of the season and before the smoke from the fireworks had cleared, Viciedo cracked his fifth of the year, to put Chicago on top 5-1.  Evan Marshall replaced Miley and Ramirez on a grounder to second to end the inning but the damage was done.

The White Sox added some unneeded insurance in the seventh.  Facing reliever Randall Delgado, Semien drew a lead-off walk and Abreu launched his second home run of the game into the same section of bleachers in left-center that captured his first.  Viciedo then rolled a single to left and advanced to third when Ramirez doubled down the left field line.  Paul Konerko popped up for the first out and Moises Sierra grounded to third with Viciedo thrown out at the plate attempting to score for the second out.  But Tyler Flowers dropped a base hit into left, scoring Ramirez to give Chicago an 8-2 lead.

Arizona scored a consolation run in the eighth, but it was far too little too late.
